HISTORICAL FACT N° 5
You are currently standing on the wall walk, 25 m above the ground. From here, people kept watch and kept an eye on the surroundings. Originally, the floors of the dungeon were climbed using simple ladders; no trace of a staircase has been found in this building. Today, it is hard to imagine using such a system, but it was necessary for the means of elevation to be well integrated into the monument: this is how Sylvain Dubuisson, designer and architect, designed this lift, inside of a tower leaning at a 3° angle.
